Abstract:

The Culture and Sport Evidence (CASE) programme is a three-year joint programme of research led by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in collaboration with the Arts Council England (ACE), English Heritage (EH), the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) and Sport England (SE). This report first addresses the drivers of engagement, including a statistical analysis, it then discusses the impacts of engagement, followed by the value of engagement, measuring the short-term private benefit of engagement and the long-term public benefit of engagement.
