Abstract:
From 2014, eight local arts organisations were awarded grants and delivered eleven projects ranging from tackling oral health awareness for 3-7 year olds to encouraging more over-60s to take up exercise and to pursue more active lifestyles. For the 2017-18 cycle, the decision was taken to explore a different way of developing local partnerships in the design and delivery of projects using creativity to address specific issues within the local community.
The aim to increase arts participation for less advantaged groups, especially in areas of high deprivation, can be seen as an ongoing commitment in the district to reduce well-being inequalities.
