Abstract:

A 12-week participatory arts course for people with depression and low levels of personal social capital, aiming to provide an ‘arts on prescription’ programme to complement the existing treatment and care services for those with mild moderate depression. After undertaking the programme, participants showed significant reductions in depression, anxiety and an increase in self-esteem, mental wellbeing and social participation.
