Abstract:
The Forget-Me-Not Project helps to address issues that come with dementia, helping patients to engage with visitors through sensory resources.
The Forget-Me-Not Visitors Project uses the talents and skill of visiting artists to interact with patients with dementia through music, humor, movement, puppetry, story telling, and more to spark meaningful engagement. This multi-arts approach allows for a more intimate and emotional connections for those who may struggle with communication.
This Suffolk Artlink evaluation of the impact of multi-arts programme on hospital patients living with dementia and their family members used a number of evaluation methods including Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) – an observational tool recognised by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
