Abstract:
This new Culture, Health & Wellbeing Alliance report is the result of a six-month project funded by the Baring Foundation, working with around 150 practitioners to understand how we might help more people and organisations using creativity to support mental health to thrive. At the heart of the report are a series of recommendations for five groups: practitioners, commissioning organisations (whether arts, health or care), funders, researchers and infrastructure organisations like the Culture, Health & Wellbeing Alliance itself.
Integral to this is a Model for Thriving Practice, which describes what needs to happen for creative practice and practitioners to be able to support mental health around the country. CHWA believes the model will allow practitioners to thrive, and practice to grow and spread in a way that is sustainable, open, and inclusive.
