Abstract:
This report sets out the strategies the Ministry for Culture and Heritage has put in place to advise the Government on how to ensure all New Zealanders have access to and can connect with the forms their culture and heritage. It outlines the Ministry’s work programme, organised under three broad themes, incorporating government priorities and the Ministry’s strategy to connect more people with New Zealand’s culture.
The three key themes are:
• Access and Participation: all New Zealanders can access and participate in cultural experiences
• Sustainable Growth: the cultural sector is supported and growing sustainably
• National Identity: New Zealanders share a distinct and inclusive identity and value our history and traditions.
