Abstract:
Matinée provides community film screenings for people with dementia and their carers. The programme is run by Arts Derbyshire in collaboration with Derbyshire County Council Health and Arts Services and the Alzheimer’s Society, plus venues and partners across the county. The aim of Matinée is to provide a safe and accessible community activity, for people with dementia and their supporters.
The independent evaluation is led by a team from the University of Nottingham. The primary objective of the Matinée evaluation was to explore which factors contribute to the success of dementia friendly cinema screenings. This interim evaluation report synthesises and presents the early findings of the qualitative evaluation and reflects on learning which can be taken forward into Year 4.
