Abstract:

This report describes the wealth of activity around health, wellbeing and social care that museums and galleries offer in the UK, and provides the context in which the National Alliance for Museums, Health and Wellbeing was established in 2015.

A report on how the museum sector is impacting on people’s health & wellbeing, it demonstrates how culture can actively contribute to prevention of ill health, quality of life, healthy ageing and human flourishing, set against a background where health funding gives more autonomy to local commissioners to explore new models of health and social care provision.
