Abstract:
Against a backdrop of increased cases of diagnosed dementia, this report considers that the best non-pharmacological way to help is to stimulate the brain through music, as it can slow cognitive decline.
The report considers how musical interventions can be integrated into the Dementia Care Pathway from diagnosis, with a strategy for the systematic planning and delivery of nationally accessible Music and Arts Pathway 4 Dementia (MAP4D) programmes.
Finally, the report draws attention to the carers’ access scheme to enjoy discounted tickets taking partners to performances and special concerts.
