Abstract:
This analysis aimed to identify the impacts of culture and sport engagement on individuals’ wellbeing and to estimate the monetary values for those wellbeing impacts using the Wellbeing Valuation approach. The report highlights three key findings: arts engagement was found to be associated with higher wellbeing, valued at £1,084 per person per year; a significant association was found between frequent library use and reported wellbeing, valued at £1,359 per person per year; and sport participation was also found to be associated with high wellbeing, valued at £1,127. The derived values show the increase in income that would be required to result in the same wellbeing increase.
