Abstract:
A brief summary of a summit focused on building an ecosystem for integrated art-based interventions, specifically Dance Movement Therapy, in India.
The first day of the summit was mainly practical work including a Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) session followed by three experimental workshops: healing power of theatre with a focus on persons with special needs, authentic movement, and creative awareness with visual arts and music. The second day included panel discussions on the need and scope of DMT and expressive arts in health settings, in the social development sector, in education and in policy. The report concludes by offering recommendations.
