Abstract:
This handbook, the third in a series of four outputs produced by the Sing Me In project, is aimed at anyone who might be involved in using collective singing as an integration tool in school, be it classroom teachers, leaders of after-school activities, music teachers, choir conductors, school administrators, parents, pupils.
It gives an overview of the physical, psychological, social, musical and educational benefits of collective singing, and how it can be used to promote social cohesion and integration. It discusses the advantages and potential challenges of the school setting, as well as proving practical tips, best practice, techniques and activities.
