Abstract:
This report offers recommendations in developing a suite of strategies designed to integrate best health practice with best arts practice in New South Wales, Australia. It details a responsive framework which promotes productive and strategic partnerships across health services and arts organisations at all levels of the system.
The Ministerial Taskforce on Health and the Arts focused its attention on examining models for more comprehensively incorporating the arts into the design of health facilities and the delivery of health services; options for governance and funding of such initiatives and the development of a clearing house as a source of, and for the exchange of, information. In preparation they undertook a Systems Diagnostic which gave them a sound basis of evidence about the current state of play within NSW Health and they drew heavily upon this in shaping their thinking and recommendations.
