Abstract:
At the 2015 White House Conference on Aging, the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Center for Creative Aging held a one day Summit on Creativity and Aging in America. The summit focused on three main areas: age-friendly community design, health and wellness in the arts, and lifelong learning and engagement in the arts. Within each of these areas the biggest issues, barriers, and solutions were identified by attendees. This report explains the relevance of each of the focus areas and outlines the findings from the summit at large. The report concludes with recommendations for the field and explains the role of the federal government.
