Abstract:
At his inaugural lecture as the newly-appointed Chair of the Arts Council, Peter Bazalgette announced a new partnership between the Arts Council and the RSA: “Towards Plan A: a new political economy for arts and culture?”, aimed at developing and articulating a new case for investment in the arts and culture.
Speaking to an audience at the RSA, this lecture was the first in a series of debates and seminars.
This report publishes the findings of the ‘”Towards Plan A: a new political economy for arts and culture?” seminar series, which brought together representatives from business and finance, the government, local authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships, and the arts and cultural sector to explore ideas that can shape a new political economy for arts and culture in England.
